Armando Peláez brings over 40 years of high level soccer coaching, on top of the two decades spent playing professionally, to the Diablos. As a former professional player and executive, Armando Pelaez offers a wealth of soccer and administrative expertise that will surely help him make an impact with the Diablos.
Armando has been coaching for over 40 years, starting his coaching journey by helping coach academy players when he was 18 years old while playing professionally.
Armando currently holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “A” License, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier License, United States National Youth Coaching License and The Venezuelan National License. Armando Pelaez has worked as a College Head Coach, as well as Assistant Coach for the Major League Soccer (MLS) Dallas Burn (currently FC Dallas) from 2001 until 2003. Prior to joining the Burn, he spent three years as Owner and Assistant Coach for the professional teams; Dallas Toros, Texas Toros and the Texas Rattlers of the United Soccer League (USL).
As a former professional soccer player he has played in Venezuela with clubs: Galicia, Portugués, Táchira and Marítimo, in the United States with the Nashville Diamonds and the Dallas Toros, and in Europe in Portugal at F.C. Porto. In addition, Armando has the distinction of representing his country with the U-15, U-17, U-20 and Olympic Venezuelan National teams.
Armando is trilingual in; English, Spanish and Portuguese and semi-fluent in Italian.
Tim Trevino is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Diablos. Tim has been coaching in the DFW area for over 20 years and holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” license.
Tim was a 2-time Collegiate All American at Oklahoma City University, and has been inducted into his both the Jesuit High School and Oklahoma City University Hall of Fames. He played professionally in both the USA and the Czech Republic First Division during his playing career, before ultimately transitioning into coaching over 20 years ago.
Tim currently serves on the National Premier League (NPL) Advisory Board 2021. He established a training facility in 2003 in Plano, home to American Academy of Soccer, and where he calls home to this day.
Taylor Goyen enters his first season with the Diablos as an Assistant Coach. Taylor is currently the head coach of the Austin College men’s soccer program. Goyen is a 2019 graduate of Austin College, and before joining the athletics staff at his alma mater served as an assistant for both the men’s and women’s programs at Ranger College.
Goyen, a native of Frisco, was a midfielder for the ‘Roo men’s soccer team during his time in Sherman. Goyen has coached at Ranger College, as an assistant for both the men’s and women’s programs at Sul Ross State University, an assistant coach for the Schreiner University women’s program and as an assistant for former head coach Mark Hudson at Austin College during the 2018 season, and currently holds a USSF D license.
