Diablos drop points vs San Antonio
In a game that wasn’t indicative of the final score line, the Diablos uncharacteristically allowed an early goal, en route to losing 3-1 to the San Antonio Corinthians.
A crowd of just over 660 fans witnessed the first Diablos loss on the season, in what was other wise an absolutely gorgeous night for soccer at Texas Woman’s University Pioneer Soccer Park.
The game saw multiple new Diablos make their debuts, with Kyle Bennett making his first start ever for the Diablos, while returning champion William Hitchcock made his 2023 debut. Not to be outdone, Sage Trevino, making his Diablos debut as a substitue in the second half brought the Diablos back from the dead when he finished a beautiful chip from 35-40 yards out, catching the keeper off his line, and etching himself in the stat books.
The Diablos next game finds them back at home on Wednesday May 24th as they face the rebranded West Texas FC from Midland-Odessa. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 with doors opening at 6:45.
