From the Owner’s Mouth

I’m Damon Gochneaur. Co-Owner & Co-Founder of the Denton Diablos and I wanted to take a minute to personally thank each and every person who joined us on this ride this summer. When Michael Hitchcock and I first met for drinks at East Side in March of 2018, we both felt there was something special about Denton and that a professionally run soccer club could find support and success making Denton its home. Fast forward 18 months later, and those feelings have been validated and confirmed in every way possible.

We have been humbled and amazed by the support we’ve received from the the Denton soccer community, Denton businesses and organizations and from you, the people of Denton.

And while we had a tremendously successful first season, and chapter one in the Book of Diablos is definitely one to be proud of, we’re not the type of organization to rest on our laurels and wax poetic on our past successes. As soon as the final whistle blew against Fort Worth, our minds and focus immediately shifted to 2020 and how we can improve the club in every facet conceivable. That being said, if you have an idea, suggestion, criticism or feedback, just reply to this email! We want this to be your club. We want it to give you what you want. So let us know how we can make this better, because we’re committed to being the best soccer club we can.

To say I’m proud of the organization wouldn’t do justice to the depth of emotion I have for each and every person involved. By every conceivable measure or mark, this year has been a success. And I’m 100% confident that the people we have in place at the club will only do better with the lessons of this year in their experience. We had clear goals for this year. As an organization, we exceeded each and every one of them. The future is immensely bright for the club and every member of it.

We’ve got a lot of exciting things coming up, from Day of the Dead Festival, to FootGolf tournament, to an end of season celebration, stay tuned to our social media and email to stay up to date!
